Casting process simulation with MAGMASOFT® helps companies to make their processes even more efficient. As a result, companies not only reduce costs, but also make optimal use of resources and contribute to a better C02 balance.
In our example, MAGMASOFT® users helped improve an existing robust process for ductile iron castings after simulating the process with a new feeder shell. Simulation results convinced users that they were producing more resource-efficiently with new feeder sleeve.
With new feeder sleeve, 55.7 tons of material per year were saved on ductile iron castings. Yield increased by an average of 3.5 percentage points. This made casting processes more efficient and sustainable. Not to be forgotten: The metal no longer needed for these products could be used for other products and processes.
