Thyssenkrupp Steel to install intelligent planning system for high-tech production network

Thyssenkrupp Steel has equipped its comprehensively modernised production network in Duisburg-Bruckhausen with an intelligent scheduling system. The new software solution promises highly efficient processes to provide high-quality products to customers.processes for high-quality products.

The new software solution from Berlin-based AI specialist Smart Steel Technologies (SST) now automatically schedules one of the most advanced plant networks in the European steel industry. This network includes the new Continuous Casting Line No. 4 (SGA 4), the completely modernized Hot Strip Mill No. 4, and the slab storage facility. According to SST, the system is automated, intelligent, and features fast reactive scheduling. This lifts the level of production planning automation at Thyssenkrupp Steel to a new level. The SST Scheduling System was developed and tested in close collaboration before being used in production.

Smart Steel Technologies will also handle the future maintenance and further development of the system.
