Povrly Copper Industries (PCI) orders a rolling mill for high-quality copper, brass, and bronze strip production. The new mill from Danieli will be installed in Povrly, Czech Republic, and process copper and copper-alloy strip in thicknesses ranging from 21.0 mm down to 0.5 mm, and widths up to 670 mm.
Special features of the mill selected by PCI include Danieli yield-boosting technology that drastically limits off-gauge lengths so reducing scrap, high-productivity output with coils finished in both odd or even passes, and simultaneous coil preparation of new coils on the payoff reel during rolling. According to Danieli, the mill is equipped with additional coiling wheels –characterized by large diameters and designed to recoil thick strip without surface cracking– to guarantee the highest product quality even during the production of sensitive materials. ##The new line will operate with Danieli Automation electrical systems and HiPAC automation technology, which offers precise, real-time control of strip thickness and flatness, for optimal production efficiency and accuracy. The startup of the new copper mill is planned for the end of 2026. Source: Danieli
